Who is Ginger from Sandprints?
Sandprints Owner and Chief Photographer, Charlotte 'Ginger' DiNunzio has been working as a professional photographer for twenty years. She started her working life as a Features Editor on a Fashion magazine in London, UK - where she comes from (yes, she still has the accent!). She kept pushing to take more photographs for the magazine until finally the penny dropped and she moved to Montana to study an MA in Photojournalism. From there she worked as a photojournalist in Santa Fe, NM; Harrisburg, PA; Portland, ME; San Jose, Costa Rica and back to jolly old London.
After working as a portrait photographer, fossil photographer (!), paparazzi, documentary photographer and newspaper photojournalist, she found her calling for capturing intimate, glorious happy moments in life. She became a full-time, high-end wedding photographer. She swiftly became popular all over Europe (speaking four languages does come in handy).
However, starting a family made her yearn for a more tranquil life back in the U.S. With a young babe in arms, the DiNunzio family moved to the beautiful Central California Coast to establish their new home.
Here, they started Sandprints Photography, a community photo studio aimed at capturing the joy and love in each family in a striking, dynamic and unusual way.
Highlights of the year include "Santa at Sandprints", usually the weekend after Thanksgiving and you'll never guess who pretends to be Santa...We also frequently photograph local animal shelter dogs for adoption (and get some kisses too).
Since 2008, Ginger has also taught photography at Cuesta College Community Programs year-round to adults. Twice a year, she offers smaller specialised photography classes through Sandprints. Interested? Just email us for information on the next class: sandprintsphotos@gmail.com
Now with two children and a beloved Basset Hound called Violet, you can often find the DiNunzios goofing around Sandprints whether it be painting the building, or each other! You may often pass Ginger zipping around in her all-electric Nissan Leaf car. You can't miss her, it's covered in Sandprints photographs and logos.
Life with a growing family is fun. Running a Boutique Photo Studio is just the icing on the cake.
